Creepy 2008 Candidates

Forbes ’08 Tracker is one of the most unconventional polls in this year’s presidential sweepstakes in terms of evaluating the creepiest candidates or potential candidates.

In its June edition, 19% of the population polled call former Republican House Speaker Newt Gingrich creepy.

The creepiest Democrats turn out to be a dead heat – between Hillary Clinton and Al Gore. But the split is dramatically along gender lines.

Some 20% of all men find Hillary creepy, while only 10% of women. For Gore, it’s 18% and 11%.

The bottom of the creepy list is equally interesting.

The actor Fred Thompson, yet to announce but zooming in the polls based on the questionable premise that he’s is the new Ronald Reagan, is the least creepy – only 2%.

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, now unaffiliated after dumping the GOP, is creepy with only 4% of those polled.

He’s tied on the Democratic side with major contender Barack Obama and Christopher Dodd, yet to break out of the second tier of candidates.
