Is Palin Ready?

Palin dissed the VP job in a cable news interview just a month ago.

Larry Kudlow of CNBC asked the hard right conservative about the possibility of being McCain’s running mate.

Palin replied: “As for that VP talk all the time, I’ll tell you, I still can’t answer the question until somebody answers for me what is it exactly that a VP does every day?

Dan Gerstein, a former adviser to Joe Lieberman, put it more bluntly in the New York Daily News:

“In picking an unknown, untested, half a term governor of Alaska to be his running mate, John McCain is following in a long line of reckless men who have rolled the dice for a beauty queen. Except in this case, McCain is taking one of the biggest, boldest gambles in modern American political history.”

The original slogan for the Republican convention starting Monday in St. Paul is, ironically, “He’s Not Ready” – aimed at Barack Obama.
