Obama’s VP Announcement
20 August 2008 |permalink | email article
Obama, subject to change, will announce his vice presidential choice either Friday night in a text message to supporters or Saturday noon (CST) in Springfield, Illinois where his long march to the presidency began on Feb. 10, 2007.
The huge rally kicks off a tour of unspecified swing states, ending at the Democratic National Convention in Denver on August 25.
Update: Last night in North Carolina, according to CBS News and passed along by the Atlantic’s Marc Ambinder, Obama was gender specific on the “he or she” choice.
In not too subtle comments in answer a question about his vice presidential criteria - read Dick Cheney - Obama said in part: “...also by the way my vice president also will be a member of the executive branch, he won’t be one of these 4th branches of government where he thinks he’s above the law.”
Biden continues to divert attention, but everything Obama said suggests experience and “somebody capable of being president.”
