Just how fearsome would Rudy Giuliani, the self-styled 9/11 hero, be in a general election against either Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama in New York?

In a just released Siena College poll, courtesy of electioncentral.tpmcafe.com, “America’s Mayor” strikes out .in a survey of Empire State voters.

Clinton wins 52% to 39% for Giuliani, and Obama beats him by 10%. Other top Republican candidates fare even worse.

Clinton beats John McCain by 18% and likely candidate Fred Thompson by 23%; Obama’s leads McCain by 17%.

Giuliani may survive the New York GOP primary on Feb. 5 but winning the state against the Democratic nominee may be far more difficult.
