Why is Bill Maher so angry?

The profane comedian, who presented an atheist view of religion in his movie Religulous, Is now taking on President Obama about health care and the economy, and expressing displeasure with the pace with which he‘s accomplishing his policy objectives.
He argues, unconvincingly, that Obama needs to be more like President George Bush when it comes to taking decisive action. He opines that B43 was able to push through several contentious policies like massive tax cuts for the very wealthy. Would that include going to war in Iraq as a necessity, or “Mission Accomplished? The comparison is ludicrous
Maher is also troubled that there is no real progressive party in America. He believes that the right wing notion that Obama is taking the nation in a “socialist” direction is wrong because he is neither a socialist or even a liberal “This country needs a left-wing. It doesn’t have it.”
I’ve got news for the would be political pundit. This is fundamentally a centrist country. Under Bush it was center right; with the dawn of the Obama era the tilt has moved ever so slightly to center left on some issues
Maher needs to brush up on his American history, Obama is the most audacious leader since FDR, and he’s moving faster to turn an economy he inherited from the Republicans around.
Quotes
“He said that for all the trauma that came of the 2008 campaign, he is not ready to declare that it had been a mistake to run, calling that a complex question.” John Edwards to The Washington Post in his first interview since cheating on his wife.
“I do not believe that the president is taking the leadership that is incumbent on an American president. “ John McCain saying that Obama doesn’t believe that Iranians have a right to protest. Obama responded that it would not be productive for the U.S. to be seen as meddling in Iranian elections. For the record, several Republican senators, notably Richard Lugar, the ranking Republican on the Foreign Affairs Committee, agree with Obama’s approach.
